AF-1 Lotting/Upgrading
A reminder, as this has actually come up more than a few times this month:
When AF-1 is announced as "free lot to those with the base/NQ AF," it implies that you are able to equip the upgraded AF+1 piece. It does not mean that you may lot the piece if you only have the AF but not the job to use it. You would be able to lot the AF-1 in the latter situation only when the AF-1 is announced as a completely free lot, in which case we effectively don't care what happens to it.
Similarly, you are not eligible to buy currency from the linkshell for the purpose of upgrading an AF, if you cannot use the resulting AF+1. Part of the reason why we do AF verification for ALL AF+1 requests (aside from bookkeeping) is to make sure that you both have the AF to upgrade and are able to use the AF+1 when upgraded.
It would be a waste of our resources to allow you to buy currency for an AF+1 that's unusable. You are more than welcome to later request currency for an AF+1 when you are able to use it, regardless of how much earlier the AF-1 was received.
