My computer blows, so I've recently been doing dynamis runs on the Ps3. The last three runs I have had serious issues with my auto-target's disabling not working properly. It sure says under config that my auto-target is off, but I'm still auto-targeting over 50% of the time. I basically have to hover over disengage, which is slowing me down.

Oh, and Tech Support says I'm crazy and that as long as I have the auto-target disbaled in the configuration menu it's not going to auto-target.

Anyone else play on ps3 and have this issue?

I don't have this issue on my PC, but it lags sooooo bad in dynamis...

try typing /autotarget off. i used to have the same problem and that seems to work better then the config. menu

Typing /autotarget off is different from turning it off in the menu. Turning it off in the menu just stops auto lock on so you actually have to type /autotarget off to turn it off.

Yes, the menu option locks your camera when you enguage on a mob. /autotarget on/off effects if you autoenguage to a mob that's in view after your current target dies.

Any upscaling on the PS3 for FFXI? Lag issues? Does it lock AV's 2 hours?

It upscales to 1080p but it looks like crap when you upscale something that was orginally 480i and low poly count. If you was looking to play it on a TV i would get the 360 version then you can play with high res graphics at 1080p.

I play ffxi at 1080p. I had to do so many registry and video card tweaks to make it not look like an upscaled piece of shit. Too bad you can't do that on PS3.

FFXI on 360 still is just 720p. It says 1080p on the box, but I don't believe it. The size of the text boxes are noticably bigger and it just looks like crap compared to my computer's 1920x1200.

You made a 360 really output 1080p, Izzy? Or are you using a computer on your TV?

But I'd still take the 360 over the PS2 or PS3 playing a PS2 copy.

I have my laptop resolution at 1080p. I had to do registry tweaks to move the background res above 1024x1024 (everything was hella blocky) and moved antialaising and shit up on the video card.

Multisample antialiasing (what the slider in your video card setting adjusts unless you have a pretty old video card) doesn't do anything in FFXI (except slow down your frame rate). You can, however, mimic supersampling by setting the background resolution higher than your actual resolution.

Antialaising in FFXI does absolutely nothing. I used to have a technical reason why, but I lost the link to the explination.

Pete's OGL2 plugin works the same way as FFXI.

I have antialaising at application setting still. I turned Anisotropic Filtering to 16x though. Does that do anything?
