Sunday's dynamis-jeuno run was my first run in a while, but i was doing some browsing on sch as support for crowd control in einherjar and thought it may be applied to dynamis in situations with massive links. Though sch isnt a great sleeper, having only tier 1 sleep available, it can be used to graviga (or bindga) the slept mobs so that when they wake, it will be much easier to sleep them again. I dont know how the resists for dynamis mobs are like so if a rdm or anyone else w/ experience can chime in here and say what they think that would help.
Also I was asked earlier if sch could silencega and they cant; same goes for any white magic enfeebling spells (slow/paralyze).

I'm not entire sure if Bind sticks on statues since I've never had the chance to try it.

As for regular Bind duration: It's not that long honestly. There are a lot of things that can happen to the mob to break the Bind and for the mob to still run after the sleeper.

I say you give it a chance though since it's something new to test out. You'll probably do well in a BLM-basted or melee-based party since if that stuff doesnt work out, you can still weather it up to help with the blm sleeps or heal the melees a bit (SCH seem to be pretty damn nice healers when coupled with a brd, rdm, or dancer even.)

Our next run is a city run. I don't think you can make Wednesday runs though. If you want, on a city run you can attend, just come SCH and try some stuff out. Graviga could potentially be a nice addition. I have a feeling bindga is just going to get some people MPK'd though haha.

haha good point with bindga. Also does gravity work on statues since they already move like a slug?

i usually work on wednesdays but this week i get off early enough to make it to dynamis. Yay!

Statues 100% resist bind and gravity. You can stun them for a brief chance at getting out of their melee range.

I don't suppose that SCH can do Stunga...just once, it'd be nice to do it to them, instead of them doing it to us, y'know? ;)

Yeah, it'd never really work, but sometimes it's nice to dream... :D

I actually think I read somewhere that they can do stunga if they sub DRK. They can do drainga and aspirga for sure, so it's not unheard of for the AOE strategem to work with dark magic.

Not that stunga would have any practical purpose other than suicide.

I fail to see the down-side of either of these statements.

Hell yeah, me too. Pick the right spot, and that could be truly spectacular.
