No I'm not quitting the game or the LS...what I want to do is "play" some and not worry so much about meeting specific scheduals, dealing with end-game drama, all that jazz.

So, for now I plan on leveling some other jobs for awhile til at least sub-job level and then see where I want to go from there. I still plan on wearing the pearl and bs-ing with everyone...but I've been wanting to level other stuff for awhile just felt like I can't since I'd wait everyday for HNMls event A or Dynamis event B and...nah it's time to step back from that. One thing that will be nice is once I get some other jobs up to 37 I can have a lot more creativity with bard :P

Here's kinda an outline of events:

Monk: 7 -> 10
Warrior: 7 ->18
Monk: 10 ->18
Ranger: 9 -> 18 (maybe)
Thief: 11 -> 37
Ninja: unlock -> 18 (only if I can't get invite on thf with sj war/mnk)
Red Mage: 5 ->37
Summoner: 6 ->37 (maybe)
Black Mage: 34 ->37 (maybe)

I want to at least get Thf and Rdm to 37 since those will be somewhat useful subjobs for brd. If and when I get a job to 37 and I find I kinda like it, I may consider doing more but I doubt it...I'll always be a bard at heart.

I'm going to mule most of my Bard gear to free up inv space, and depending on costs I may have to sell some of my "luxury" items....will try not to do that.

So there you have it, however long it takes I'm going to "try" and stick to that...I may just make it through some of it before I want to come back as bard, who knows. Since a lot of that is dunes and before action if anyone feels like lending a little PL help ^^ I won't turn it down.

Again, I'm not quitting anything, I'm taking a "vacation"

My impression (don't take this seriously):

CONS:

:( You will not be able to stop leveling RNG once you start. Going from BRD main to RNG is like a nun having sex for the first time....

:( Taru MNK with good gear in the dunes is hell... HELL I tell you! (I leveled there with Tyrlafiel when he was MNK until he de-leveled too much and fell out of my level range >_>)

:( You underestimate the dunes. The dunes can be fun and pretty funny at the same time. Now the jungle is a different story.... after putting 4 jobs through the jungle you're gonna have the 1000 yard stare man... just like my uncle who was in nam.

PROS:

:) You didn't pick DRG.

Come on Fats, I was only dying at the rate of 1 or 2 times per mob that I tanked (or backup voked). Of course, for most of that PT I was the tank.

To think that we were insulted by that rank 4 rng who said mnk, especially taru mnk, cannot tank.

Several hours later, I was + a whole ~1.2k xp.

While it was certainly funny to watch (die, HP, get back in time to either die again or just as mob died) It probably wasnt the best way to spend the day. We should of waited for a war or pld. ;)

Sane ppl try to skip the jungle, and go from ~25-?? in Altepa, :)

Pretty well planned. :)

RDM, BLM, and SMN need only WHM or BLM subs, so I think you're taken care of there. (For RDM/WHM: Even a taru can solo an even match up to 14 or 15.)

For THF, MNK or WAR work well as early subjobs, depending on whether you need to backup tank. The reason for MNK sub is that THFs keep advising people to use hand to hand weapons until you get viper bite, at 32 or 33 depending on whether you have merit dagger skill.

To level WAR, I'd simply sub WHM until 24 and then NIN afterward. A good 24+ warrior does not need boost to hold reasonable hate.

MNKs up to 30 almost always sub WAR because they make great tanks or backups with that much HP.

At 32 when your THF is pulling in Garlaige, the ninja sub comes in really handy. For the bats, I'd use a dagger whether viper bite is ready. I tend to alternate NIN sub for accuracy and safety and WAR sub for raw damage depending on the party setup.

I don't see a big reason to work on ranger for a subjob during XP parties, but many are after the widescan. Well then, don't stop ranger at 18, but take it to 20 so you get a better widescan. :)

As always, when levelling a possible tank in the dunes/jungles on goblins (that includes ranger), it is prudent to carry 30-minute defense food (read: boiled crayfish) as well as the usual half-hour damage food. It's more important not to die and have to HP to Selbina or Kazham than to worry about keeping your lvl 1-25 sausage on. :)
