The following changes will go into effect immediately, EXCEPT the increase to entry fees. Please read the following carefully, especially if you are a relic upgrader.

Entry fees increased

Entry fees will be raised to 20k per member, per run.

The increase to fees will not be in effect until 1 August 2007.

This should be sufficient amount of time for you to go out and make enough gil to adjust to the increase for the runs in the near future.

Currency costs lowered

The linkshell will now begin offering currency at the following rates:

Singles: 4k
Hundreds: 600k

Singles that have had their distributions announced will not be adjusted. Hundreds will be retroactively adjusted to match the current rate.

There will be no distinguishing between costs of currency received through in-zone drops, currency recycled, and currency reoffered after being returned by another upgrader.

Minimum gil payout

Currency lotters will now be assured a minimum return of 30000 gil per run where lotting currency is an option. There will be no gil return in CoP Dynamis zones.

This value assures that members lotting currency will recoup their entry cost, as well as half the entry cost of another run.

Medicines

In addition to the Icarus Wings provided at the Dynamis Lord, the linkshell is going to begin experimenting with providing Poison, Venom, and Sleeping Potions for use during Dynamis-Xarcabard. Members are still expected--and even more so now--to bring their own Opo-opo necklace (melee) and Reraise item. Members will roughly be provided with 2 Poison/Venom Potions and 6 Sleeping Potions (enough for 150%TP).

For details about how to get an Opo-opo Necklace, read the quest summary at FFXIclopedia (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Wrath_of_the_Opo-opos).

The reason why this is "experimental" is that although I can estimate how much medicine we will use per run, I want to see the actual use for a few runs to get a better idea of how much we will spend and how it will affect our budget. I am also prepared to pay fair market cost for medicines if any of our in-house alchemists want to spend time synthesizing for us, otherwise I will just get them from the Auction House as usual.

Changes to currency returns

If a member chooses to give up their relic upgrade, currency will be reimbursed at the current singles-rate, regardless of how many singles or hundreds pieces were purchased during the upgrade process.

For example:

If a member has bought 200 Bronzepieces and 2 Silverpieces from the linkshell and gives up his upgrade, he will be reimbursed for:

(singles + 100 * hundreds) * current singles rate
(200 + 100 * 2) * 4k = 1600k

, regardless of the original cost of the currency.

Members that complete their relic upgrade will not be affected by this change at all.

Currency Reminder

All distributed currency, until you turn in your Stage 5 upgrade, remains property of the linkshell. If you quit your upgrade, the linkshell, or the game, you are expected to return the currency you bought through the linkshell, so it can be redistributed to other relic upgraders. Upgraders returning their currency will be reimbursed whichever current method is being used to determine such value.

Any current relic upgrader that, in light of the reimbursal change (the note on ownership of currency is only a reminder, as it has been policy from the start), decides to end their current upgrade has until 31 July 2007 to notify me and be reimbursed using the old currency system and values.

Why are 100 pieces priced at a different rate than singles?

Um, if singles are 4k, 100 pieces should cost 400k. Was that a typo?

Singles are 4000 gil.
Hundreds are 600000 gil.

It's not a typo. Dropped hundreds have always been more expensive than the per unit rate (3k/1M, then 6k/1M) and this isn't any different.

The only time hundreds have been offered at the unit rate have been with currency that was returned, and I will no longer be making that distinction. All hundreds will be sold at the same price, regardless of the source.

To reiterate what Teo said, we've always charged more for 100 pieces due to the convenience of them. Before this recent currency change, 100's were sold at 1mil, and singles were sold at 6k. Now, we've lowered 100's to 600k and singles are 4k.

Even a LOOONG time ago, singles were 3k, and 100's were 1mil haha. I'd say the current system is definitively an upgrade.

I remember a long time ago people trading in 100 single pieces for a hundred piece, including me when I was upgrading dagger during those days. Still a good deal though. Should be able to start stage 4 bow at these prices if I ever decide to start it.

In the past the 100s were added to the split and not sold seperately, thats why people would trade singles for a 100.
