Memberlist
Please make sure your record listed in the Memberlist (http://www.dynamisbums.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=15) is correct for your AF received and your needed zones.
If you have not yet declared an upgrade job or a shadow item preference (even if you are not yet eligible), you should make that choice soon. Post in the Administrative Notes section and I will add it to your record.
Various members' concerns
A member recently brought up the following issues, which I'll go over to make them clear to everyone:
Is it necessary for someone to make their way to the Trail Markings/Hieroglypics even if the member has the intention of sitting out on a full run?
Yes.
Everyone should be at the Trail Markings/Hieroglyphics with the intention of actually going through the run. If you have made other plans in advance, don't show up to Dynamis expecting to just leave. We may need you to attend anyway.
If the rule of having to be at the Trail Markings/Hieroglyphics ready to enter in order to get credit for not attending is not enforced, it encourages people to log on at the very last minute and not make any effort to be at the run whatsoever while expecting to get something in return.
I cannot allow for that possibility, and considering that a member sitting out basically has 2-4 hours of free time from not having to attend, I do not feel bad that you spend 30-40 minutes waiting for alliances to be finished to leave.
Alliances take too long to make and inconveniences people with multiple jobs who do not know what they should bring with enough advance notice and/or end up having to return to change jobs again anyway.
Over the next few weeks I am having other leadership members gain experience with making alliances, rather than the 3-4 people who have consistently done them in the past. This process means that, in the short term, alliance building will take more time due to inexperience. You will simply have to be patient because by doing this, future alliances will be built faster with more people practiced and capable of making them. Thanks in advance for understanding.
If you are a member with multiple jobs, what should you do if it is unclear which job you should come as?
- Most members, even with multiple jobs, end up coming as a certain job more often than not.
- You can look at the current linkshell list using "/search all linkshell". If you are a PLD and RDM and you see that there are 35 RDMs and 1 PLD, common sense will give you an idea of which job we may need more.
- You can always ask the alliance builder which jobs are needed, and follow up occasionally if you have been asked to wait or get no response. If you don't get a response from the alliance builder, that's probably because they're working on alliances! Ask another leader instead.
I will impress upon our alliance builders to try to quickly identify where we may need certain jobs so that those who are voluntarily flexible in which jobs they can bring have as much notice as possible without being forced to change jobs again later down the line.
I will not post alliance setups for single-run days in advance. There are simply too many people who do not 1) reply, or 2) follow through which makes the process not worthwhile (unless we are doing multiple runs for which it is absolutely necessary to make sure we have all the basic needs covered in each zone). I will, however, ask our alliance builders to periodically put up partial alliances before the run as long as there is the understanding that some peoples' jobs can and may change due to the turnout.
