I'll make a longer post on strategy and stuff I saw tomorrow. If you have ANY information or strategy ideas etc. put them here and we will come up with a solid plan before our next attempt.

Man randomly sent me a /tell once explaining how to defeat him. I couldn't understand much of what he said, but I do remember him saying we need lots and lots of rangers. All they do is /shoot /shoot /shoot /barrage Sidewinder /shoot and so on until they die. After dying from excessive hate, Man said they get Raise 1, 2, or 3 and keep doing the same thing until the NM dies.

Isn't that a cliche NM strategy? Everyone knows that, get as many rng and blm as you can, and nuke shoot it, then it will die >_> If you are not support job or one of the two above, go change your job to rng or blm, that's it. =p

I'd like to know how melee and ranger damage was doing to the Dynamis Lord. I knew even before we fought him that blm damage was gimped vs him from watching the ascendant sky video. If blms can't hardely scratch him then we should concentrate on taking out Ying and Yang when he summons them back.

Radav and I have discussed a sort of marathon/ranged attack/spirits within strategy similar to Kirin. Meditate and Opo Opo necklace to get tp. Of course we have no idea if this would actually work until we try it.

FatherLS has defeated shadow lord 2 times.

I will get more info but a friend in that dynamis ls told me that all of their melee used spirits within/icarus wings and that its pretty much impossible without that.

I did a Thundaga3 on the big bad lord and it didnt hit him for much but it did hit Ying and Yang for over 1k so I think BLMs should just use Thundaga 3^^

The funny thing was that 1k didnt even make the dragons attack me they kept working with Dynamis Lord

I talked to a JP friend of mine who's defeated the Dynamis Lord with the Union LS. Here's the hints I got from him:

Two or more RDM/DRK to chainspell and stun. This can slow him down for over a min.

PLD provokes and 2hours and everyone /assist them.

All non-mages use Opo-opo chrown and sleep potions to have 300% TP. Melees run up and skillchain. RNG skillchain from far away.

Melees run away and TP up again, run in again, and weaponskill.

He said that they set up a skillchain (Light I assume) for the first round where everyone used full TP. After that they just went. If everyone brought Wings, this could go even faster.

More RNGs and BLMs the better he said.

In the first min, they had the Lord down to 10% HP and then spent the next 14 mins getting the last tenth. I'm guessing that this was because there was no more Stun-ga to stop him from using special attacks. They lost at least 15 times before they got the win.

He said that if we had someone who knows Japanese, he can talk to them if we need more details.

well i thought of something going on krishes post about the opening minutes of dynamis lord after we sleep pot to 300 tp we have the melees set up in 3 squads as far asi can see

squad one ppl that can open light chain rng war etc etc

squad two ppl that close light chain mnk drk thf etc etc

squad three ppl that would just do spirits within

have the rdm/drks just do as the post says chainspell stun him and if we have two that ll give us a minute to whittle at him

have some melee and only one melee make a macro to orcistrate the melee alliance through linkchat so everyone is clear

something like

sqaud one attack in 2 /wait 2 /squad 1 att/wait 1 /squad 2 attack in 2/wait 2 sqaud 2 attack

you get the idea

this will insure if nothing else that we make a light chain in the fore the BLM alliance to burst off

if everyone in the melee alliance gets a wing we can set the whole thing up again and get a second chain off and whole nother burst

after that it s mostly surviving the latter part of him but hopefully we did enough there to get to the end

裏王6回程倒してるけどドロップ品は毎回ノーロット流しにしてる俺が答えてやろう。裏闇王にはマラソンが有 効。
マラソンっつーか崖越しでも遠隔やら精霊が届くってだけなんだがな。

ウチの裏闇王の倒し方はこんな感じ。

裏闇王を溜め気孔弾Śnで釣ってそのまま下の段まで引っ張る。
予め決めておいた位置(下から2番目の段)の位置に控えていた前衛軍団がTP300%+アビでガツンと削る 。
撃つ物を撃ったら離れて昏睡TP溜めとか裏闇王に赤ネームディア維持とかマラソンとかアビ待ちとか崖越しに 遠隔撃てる位置確保とかでとにかく離れる。
マラソンしながらWSやアビや遠隔で削る。崖越しに挑発したりフラッシュ撃ったり適当にスタンぶっ放したり 隅っこの方でこっそりTPや攻撃力を溜めたり白やレイズ使えるジョブは蘇生に走り回ったり戻り位置を決めて おいてヒーリングしたりする。

黒6~10名+ナイト3~4名は門の前に待機してインヤンが沸いたら速攻で片方ずつ精霊を叩き 込んで倒す。
インヤンを呼び出す時の台詞は判りやすいのでLSで連絡して何時でも対処できるようにする。

2割とかその前後まで削ったら削るのを止めてもう一度インヤン呼び出しを待ちつつ態勢やらアビを 整えて
インヤン倒して、門前で待機してる黒軍団が橋の東側に移動して
その場所(ウチのLSでは「決戦の地」って呼んでる)まで裏闇王を連れて行く。
そしてドゴーンドゴーンドゴーンドゴーンドゴーンドゴーンギューンドーンズガーンズギュウゥゥ ゥゥンで〆。
何故最後を精霊で一気に削るかと言うと闇王が瀕死の発狂モードになると
分身等の予備動作無し、しかも麒麟並みの速度でWSを連打するようになるから。

パッチ後も同じ作戦が通用してる。一回だけ最後の決戦の時にブレクガが来て全滅しかけたが何と かなった。
裏王の回避防御は低いので前衛ジョブでも遠隔上げて撃ってそこそこダメ出してるらしい。
散らばってマラソンしてるので総計でどれ位出てるかとかは知らないけどな。

2秒で範囲内のPCの6割が死亡、とかならともかく2秒で全滅ってのはお粗末過ぎる。
WS撃ったら離れろ。崖越しに精霊とか遠隔を撃って赤ネーム切れたら速攻でディア。
パッチ後も問題なく倒せる。
昔Kirinを超マラソン&30人規模の入れ替え作戦で狩ってたのと同じノリだから
スマートにやれば今のKirinみたいにもっと上手く削れるのかもしれないが。

Another detail strategy against dynamis lord so if someone can translate.
The important point of this post is how they positioned while fighting dynamis lord so I'm hoping someone can translate that part in detail. I'll post what I understand though. This post is coming from someone who has won dynamis lord 6 times. Basicly they start the pull with chi blast and pull dynamis lord all the way to the bottom. Everyone else stay on the 2nd ledge and range attack him (for those who can, rng blm mnk etc) and the rest get 300 tp then SC, spirit within on him while the tanks marathon. I wasn't able to ES gravity him to see if it works since my ES ran out since the pull was delayed, but I was able to ES paralyze him our very first Xacarbard run so gravity might not be out of the question.

I babelfished it, of course they would come as "reverse side darkness king" for Dynamis Lord, how sexy, i expected "holy cow batman" (-.-)p

We killed Dynamis Lord 6 times. However, for item drops, *something with no lot etc, i cant even make it senseful*
For Dynamis Lord, marathon seems to be a good idea for it. You can only marathon it till the cliff, and you need to kill it *nonsense stuff with killing with "inside feeling"?*

oh ok... it's too long, i'm too lazy and it just killed alot of my braincells, so go figure it out yourself. We might need some "avant-garde corps which refrained in position gatun shave" here!

Some observations of a Bard:


Elegy stuck on DL before and after Soul Voice, that wasn't a problem. Requiem would not stick even with 2hr, must have complete resist. Ltng. Threnody didn't stick the one time I had a chance to squeeze it off before 2hr, did not attempt after Sould Voice. Dia/Bio still seem to work on DL.

After initial pull do we assume DL starts with full TP or builds through hits? What I think we did last night was after the pull immediatly Chain-spell Stun started. I think it might make more sense to rather than have the BLM's attempt to MB, might be easier for them to Elemental Seal Thundaga III right at the start (RNG could throw out Barrage). After this first hit when the Drain AoE will actually do something, THEN begin Chainspell stun, this should buy us 5-10 seconds on the stun time. I might be wrong it just seems we lost time since we started stunning before any damage had commensed.

Ok, not sure if I saw it wrong or not. Were the Plds doing their invincible cycle at the same time as the Chainspell stun cycle? If he can't do anything during the stun series Pld's could wait til the Last Rdm/drk annouces their chainspell, then start to perform their invincibles.

DL was moving alot, that was bad news. I was trying to stay just at that "you're out of range to cast that" area but he kept creeping down the hill and I was like "OH CRAP!" ^^ If anyone can make an educated guess as to the size of his AoE. We might want to try and park him so like we can draw a line as "Minimum Safe Distance" such as "If you go past where the two roads meet up you'll get hit" There was a lot of people who went in for their stuff, but lingered, or while they were bugging out DL was moving down the hill, hense a lot of AoE hits. Might even be educational for us like we do with the Windy Death House to go to the castle entrance and assign locations; mages here, DL stands and STAYS here, etc. Also for placement IF possible one specific location could be assigned as "Triage" anyone weakened/healing could gather at place where DL/Ying/Yang are kept away from. I saw a lot of people trying to re-coop from weakness to have Dragons step on them.

Ying/Yang moved! That totally changes everything! The original plan as I heard was to just -ga III DL since the dragons wouldn't leave his side. It didn't turn out like that, even during the skill chains and mage hits it didn't appear that the dragons were returning to aid DL (wtf). I saw someone last night (was that Helm?) marathoning the Dragons away from us, if that works then we're Gold screw the dragons :P. Just need to have it so whenever we do get DL dead and if he pops a ???, someone needs to relieve the Dragon Runners (if they're still alive ;p) so they can hit the ??? as well.

Reraise! There is no way with the number of whm's we have to be able to get everyone up during the DL fight, plus it's safe to assume once the Chain-spells are up, and the invincibles wore, we're only going to have a small period to win or die. For that initial set everyone should try to bring a scroll of reraise, reraiser/hireraier/reraise gorget, etc. Bard's can cast Hynmus for ease (might even be worth investing in the +2 Harp....still debating on that) If you happen to die and you're near AoE range, wait til you think it's clear then get up and bug out to the "Safe Area" If Mages die they should get off their asses and if they have MP get back to Nuking! :P No one said you can sleep!

Weapon Skills/Skill Chains: I can't say much on this, I wasn't anywhere near to see damage being dealt through these. From where I read in party/link chat, some people said some attacks were move effective than others. It would be GOOD to go in there with everyone having 300% TP, and it's nice if you're melee and have tp, as long as you don't rest you don't lose it. It's gonna suck trying to Gather TP on the Dragon's before Ying/Yang... Would it be easier to do (Store TP) on the last set of Kindred before the Dragon pulls? what makes more sense to the melee?? I personally think like we did last night pull all that shit to the mages on the cliff, that was awesome! Spirit's Within was said to still do full damage, no gimping like the new dragons. Sometime this week if you haven't completed the quest people could team up to head through Temple/Den/Yhoat to get the necklace from the Z5 stone. Since there's gonna be like ~40 some odd people trying to get this one sometime this week LOL I see this as not gonna happen just getting through the AH. For anyone who CAN use a Sword but doesn't have enough skill yet for Spirit's Within, get together with other people. I NEED TO SKILL UP AS WELL, I will go with whom-ever after Coffer mobs, lend you a madrigal and let's get that skill up!

Potions: Start getting those potions now. Nothing is worse than having 50 people rush the AH at once ;p. Poisons, echo/eye drops, sleeping, ethers you name it. A lot of people were short stuff because they tried to get it at the last minute and there's never enough stock for everyone.

Other than that I was VERY impressed! We mowed through that place like it was nothing. Hit a couple bumps but heck that's expected it's Dynamis :). Sadly I don't think we can expect to see much in the form of AF drop if we try solely to go after DL. We might need to get it setup that when we have our full people taken care of for the main cities and Beaudicine. Have Xarcabard rotations. DL >> Farm/relic NM >> DL etc. But congrats to that lucky Drk that got the "Resist Paralyze" ;p

SO that's it from what I saw (or think I saw) please I would like to see everyone add some part of their experience it's a good read and I'm sure each person could contribute something to make this all work out better.

Here are some obversations I had.

1. Obviously we needed to keep everyone but the attacking squad away from DL while the stunning was going on. Literally for the first 30 seconds his HP didnt move a bit and he was being hammered. His drain move was more then making up for the damage being done to him. So next time only the attacking squad should be in range. The BLMs will be casting from max range etc.

2. After the stunning is over this is when the PLD invincible chain should be used. Marathoning him around a certain area while we nuke/shoot him from afar. If your within range of that WS he does when there are 4-6 of him appearring at once your basically dead. So we can't have everyone running up to him or we'll just get slaughtered like last time. Damage needs to be done to him at all times or he will just regen his HP and kick our ass.

3. EVERYONE needs to bring an Opo Opo Necklace and sleeping potions with them. Save your 2 hour for him. Once we run out of Invincible/2 hour Stun/Icarus Wings then we should use 2 hour and hope this finishes him off.

4. About running the dragons away. I'm not sold on this idea cause it seems alot can go wrong here. I think it would be better to just kill them. They are not that strong and 1k damage seemed to take around a third of their HP off. So like statues we need to nuke them dead asap.

5. About killing the Vanguard Dragons. We shouldnt have people running into range of these guys AoE. As a matter of fact even though the would be long pulls we really should just stay camped at the bottom and have the mages nuke from above, RNG shoot from afar and NIN tank the mobs. This will save us a good 10-15 min. cause we wont need to raise half the alliance.

6. Alliance leaders I really need your help getting this information to the rest of the melee. Its obvious everyone is not listening to what is said in the link. When we have 40 people standing within range of DL and he is taking almost 200 HP from each person obviously there is nothing we could do to kill him. So if you need to yell at your people, swear, do whatever to make sure they listen and understand what is going on.

well according to this SS. when he summons copies of himself. each one does Oblivion smash. which leads me to believe that not just one of that move kills people. but the combined power of all three. that's why I survived. I was only hit by 1, while everyone that died were towards the center when that move was used. Again, having everyone stay out of the "Hot Zone" during the beginning assault would be best.

Used Babblefish on it. It talks about red and white demons which i assume are red and white mages lol... and poets which i assume to be bards. They do suggest for the Goddess Hymnus to be used and going to a safe spot. I dunno if you guys have read this, but i thought it to be useful somewhat. Hope it helps. I know we can do this guys =) so lets get focused and win ^^.

They also seem to favor Marathoning Ying and Yang. but maybe someone else can make more sense of it ;/ Oh yea i also read its weak to Holy lol.

Positioning is very important I think. What was the difference between the first several vanguard dragon vs the last several. I couldn't see the other alliance but I'm pretty sure it went really smoothly the first several, the reason? The cliff. I think we lose a lot more time dying raising and waiting for weakness than it takes to have puller pulling the later dragons to the cliff. I was able to target and cast on both ying and yang on the ledge right infront of his gate and their AOE couldn't reach me. I don't think pulling all the way to the cliff is even necessary as there are ledges all around the hill to the castle. We should take advantage of them, on the dragons as well as ying yang + dynamis lord.

Also, is it really that good for a thf to pull dynamis lord? The pull is basicly a free hit, most other strategys I read have a monk pulling with chi blast. Of course we can always start the pull with the whole blm alliance ES + thundaga III, just have tarubyte drink a hermes quencher before hand. :D

I don't think we should marathon ying and yang away either. Dynamis lord isn't a 5-10 minute fight, there is no way we can marathon them very long. Every page I read assign the blms to take care of them. The summoned version are said to have very low hp so maybe if the blms saved their ES or even without ES they can just thundaga III them to death right away.

I really wanna get a concrete strategy worked out for this soon. That way I can make a post saying this is exactly what we will do and what you guys need to bring. NO ONE SHOULD BE USING 2 Hour leading up to our fight with DL. If your getting owned by a monk or something just let him kill you and take the 200 xp hit from getting a raise III. Having an extra invincible at the end could make or brake our success.

So lets pretend we use the same strategy we used last time. I'm gonna write this out in a step by step form starting from where we start pulling Vanguard Dragons.

1. NIN Tank takes position along the cliff that leads down from the entrance to Uleguerand Range. BLMs, RDMs, etc. line up on the cliff above. Only the NIN tanks, rangers using ranged only, and mages should be hitting them. We don't need to waste any time raising half the alliance cause they got killed by the dragon's strong AoE.

2. Once the dragons are eliminated we take position on the path leading up to DL. Every melee at this point PLD, NIN, etc. everyone! should be at this point using sleep pots and opo necklace to get 300% tp. You ALL should have an icarus wing that Radav will be providing to you before the run. Last time like 21 people took a wing. Did we really only have 21 melee total?? Cause by my count we should have had about 30. So 9 people for some reason did not take a 1 gil wing I bought for us to use for this.

3. Mages should be blinked/stoneskinned and have reraise on them in some form. Hymnus should be used by all who have a bard with them. If you die you need to get up asap and go to the designated safe spot.

4. PLDs will be given an Invincible order to use during our Chainspell stun marathon. RDM/DRKs will be given an order to use for their role in the fight. I think 3 total RDM/DRKs is plenty. Im not sure how long it takes him to start resisting these.

5. Each alliance will be given the task of setting up light chains they will use. The order of the alliances to charge DL and use these chains will be determined before the run.

-The Fight- (Here's how it should have gone)

1. We'll send someone at DL who can do some damage on a pull. Scytale makes a good point that we might as well do some damage on the pull. We do need to get as much damage on him as possible.

Positioning: We can try to set the mages up on a cliff sort of like we do against the vanguard dragons. If you look at Scytales map I think it should be something like this. My worry is that his big AoE move will still reach you if your up on a ledge. I noticed his other forms will spawn all over the place even up one level from where he is. (Can someone back me up on this?) We'll have a few WHMs who are the medic group tasked with tractoring the dead away to a safe spot to be raised by the medical staff. Melee and mages should be seperated in camps like scytale illustrated.

2. PLD runs up to DL at assigned fighting spot. Vokes then Invincible to keep aggro. Then RDM/DRK uses chainspell stun. After the first stun is used the 1st. alliance should run in do their chains and then go back to camp. Second alliance goes in does their thing. Third etc. At this point my guess is we would have gone through our three chainspell stuns and hopefully done at least 50% damage hopefully even more. VERY IMPORTANT TO stay away from DL if your not in there attacking him. If your alliance is not supposed to be within range you should be far enough away so that your not getting drained. Last time we destroyed 2 alliances worth of TP by being to close. His HP did not move till the third alliance went in.

3. If he summons his dragons they should be killed. BLMs will blow them up asap. Its taking a big chance trying to marathon them away. The fight will be long and the marathoners will not be able to stay alive that long.

4. After the chainspells are done. Icarus Wings should be used by each alliance and we will go through our chain order again. PLDs doing their best job keeping hate and holding him in position. Using Invincible again should be used I think that way you have some chance of keeping him on you. After this step we have had 3 almost full alliance of melee using huge TP in rounds. BLMs nuking the hell out of them. IF he's still not dead its 2 hour time again and hopefully this will knock off the rest of his HP.

Some misc. thoughts.

Every DoT spell we can cast on him should be used. Bio, Poison, Requiem VI, Rasp, also Paralyze, Bind, Slow, Elegy, need to be casted on him. I'll assign people before hand that I expect to be doing this. I expect all of you who can to get these spells on him. Also Lightning threnody to help stuns land as well as helping the BLMs thunder hit with full strength.

Can't stress these few things enough. Everyone needs to have 2 stacks of sleeping pots and an opo necklace if things get desperate it would be nice to have a bunch of mages to run in if its close and do our weak ass WSs lol. Eye drops for melee, echo drops for mages and other people who need it. The BEST food you can get. Poison pots to use during the run to keep us awake and save time.

Please shoot holes in this. If you believe that we should use Spirits within instead of Light chains make your case. I personally don't understand when people say its too complicated to do. Why are japanese people so much better at organizing then we are?? Makes no sense to me at all. I know for a fact we had very few people using 300% TP on that first set of chains. I only brought 4 stacks of sleeping pots and maybe 5 people said they had a necklace with them. Soooo thats alot of people who may not have even had 100% TP. I'm checking your guys equipment next time we go and I want you to show me you have the necklace. If you don't have it I'm not letting you come on the run.

The difficulty with Vanguard Dragons is that the area of effect on Body Slam and Chaos Blade is HUGE. I was well beyond casting range of the meleers in my party fighting the dragon, and I still got hit (and killed) by Body Slam. Taking them to the cliffside, even though the pull is long, is probably the best idea.

That said, meleers on the ground in front of the cliff should not run up to engage the Dragon when it is pulled. You are only putting yourselves out of casting range if you do so, and there is no way I can Cure or remove status without significant risk by running down to get closer.

Pulling the Dynamis Lord with a few MNKs that have been Boosting the entire time we've been getting ready seems like a great idea. We just need to make sure the transition between the pull and the first alliance going in to skillchain, along with the Chainspell + Stun and Invincibles goes seamlessly, and doesn't give the Dynamis Lord a chance to react.

If we want to be able to do Light, it will require some working out of the alliances beforehand. Of the 7-8 meleers in our alliance, we could only really put together about 2 skillchains.

I have damage filtered in Dynamis, so I can't note if Light or Spirits Within was more effective. However, I think we may be able to use both, in that some meleers are not suitable for making Light skillchains (eg., NIN). Those that can't make Light should focus on Spirits Within, maybe running up to do that after all the Light skillchains have been made.

As Scytale mentioned, we must control the Dynamis Lord's movement somehow. My concern is that even with Invincible, we may be doing enough damage that eventually the Dynamis Lord will move.

The range of Transfusion and Manastrom isn't incredibly big, but when combined with Bindga and a moving Dynamis Lord, complicates things. Someone with Erase must go with the skillchainers to make sure that they are not stuck on the way before being able to hit the Dynamis Lord. If everyone is using Poison Potions, then the Sleepga that the Dynamis Lord spams will not be so much a problem.

I favor dispatching the resummoned Ying and Yang as soon as possible. Their specials put us at a significant disadvantage, and if Yang gets off Voidsong (Dispelga) then our recovery plans are ruined for anyone in range. We had a lot of problems when one of their Body Slams resulted in everyone being Paralyzed. Ying's Lodesong (Graviga) will make it difficult to get people in and out quickly.

Although we seemed to have limited success in training them away, I think them being alive poses great risk, especially if they simply decide to ignore the trainers and come back to the Dynamis Lord.

Mages should keep some sort of juice or ether to get back MP. I saw a couple of occasions where RDMs were in range of Manastrom and Voidsong, tried to Convert, and ended up having to sit (presumably, because Refresh was dispelled and Convert had no effect because they had no MP left).

I am not completely sure, but I think I saw that the summoning actions for Ying and Yang and for the Dynamis Lord copies could be stunned successfully. The Dynamis Lord was just out of range though, so I'm not too sure on this...I'd need someone else's observation to back me up on this one. The Dynamis Lord seems to only use Oblivion Smash when the other copies are there...if there is a way we can prevent them from being summoned or kill the copies quickly, my hope is that we can negate this move.

I saw that the Dynamis Lord was Shadowbound successfully, at least on one occassion. Maybe we can use this to our advantage somehow.

The posts earlier in the thread indicate that the Dynamis Lord's behavior changes as it gets lower on life. Without seeing the effects of some of these skills, it's hard to plan for contingency, but I think we should be well aware that the Dynamis Lord is not going to go down without a fight the closer he gets to death (death? re-death? whatever it is...).

Ok so going back through the different strategies I've seen and trying to read the babelfished tranlsations of the Japanese strategies (most I got from doing this was a headache nothing else) there are some common things.

1. Positioning is very important they all mention putting people on the cliff and having ranged attack and magic be done from there.

2. Keeping his HP regen at bay is a problem that needs to be dealt with. So Poison II, Bio II, Requiem VI, Rasp, should all be tried I think.

3. Every single strategy involves getting 300% TP before hand and using it to make a light chain or by doing spirits within. I've yet to see anyone's opinion on whether we should be making light chains or just doing spirits within the whole time. I would lean towards Light Chain cause BLMs can MB on them for big damage Fatman hit for 1200 which is significant. Please don't tell me this is to complicated. All it takes is 2 people to make a light chain. If you can do it in an xp party you can do it here.

4. Pulling with a Monk fully boosted using Chi Blast makes sense. I think it will speed up the summoning on Yin and Yang but that shouldnt matter to much since they are easily dealt with.

5. Having poison potions to keep awake is important.

6. If what Teorem said is right and DL making copies of himself and summoning Yin and Yang can be Stunned we need to be on top of this. So the tank who's on DL needs to call out in /l when they see him doing this so BLM, DRK, and RDM/DRK (who are alive LOL) can try and stun this.

7. As I mentioned in the announcement you ALL (Mages too) need to have an opo necklace and a stack of sleeping potions. I don't wanna hear that you need this stuff on Sunday. GET IT BEFORE THIS WEEKEND!

Please any more opinions or suggestions lets hear them. I think we all wanna be able to kill Dynamis Lord consistently. So working out a solid strategy beforehand is gonna make the difference. Please read the information here and make sure you understand it completely BEFORE hand. If I don't get any information suggestions etc. I'll type up the strategy and have it with me to go over with you guys before the run on Sunday. Knowing this stuff cold will help save time preparing.

I don't see why we can't do both spirits within and light chains >_> I think some jobs (Paladin and Red Mage for example) should not bother trying to be part of a light skill chain because he's difficult to hit. Also take note that he only uses the HP drain move at the opening, so we should take that into account.

Considering Dynamis Lord has HNM evasion and defense, I believe the only worthwhile use of sleep-TP for mages is for spirits within while maxing out HP - only the bards and red mages can do this WS. There are skills here and there that don't miss (earth crusher, e.g.), but they are elemental based, and the mages capable of using those probably have higher elemental or divine skill than weapon skill, making the weapon-based damage more likely to be resisted.

While we're on the subject of opo necklaces, it may be good for some people to check their subjobs. If you have trouble hitting, ranger main or sub help greatly with accuracy, as does using sneak attack on a thief sub. It does no good if you can build TP to 300 but can't land anything but a one-hit ws that deals out 150-200 damage. At least preface it with a sneak attack if you can't do damage with a multihit ws.

Additionally, it's important to consider that many WS's have different properties when TP is unusually high. Asuran fists has higher accuracy (but not a ton more), spinning slash and shark bite do extra damage, dancing edge lands more criticals, and so forth. Spirits within can be used by so many jobs, but only a handful should rely on it.

Something similar to what we do on other HNM's. Rather than kite DL since it takes away controlling his AOE range (I don't know if it's a tp based move or what) We could possibly have it where 1 or 2 mobs are left as Store TP mobs, that way after the initial set of Skill-chains go they could run back to these mobs for some mob TP. It'd be A LOT better to build tp on things other than DL, we don't need to give him TP through doing random 10-30 dam hits ><

If any melee that's got an easy 1.5m to drop pick up the Martial Analace :P sleep up to 200% (for 300% spirit's within) icarus for 100 (200 martial) then rinse/repeat. You'll use a lot less pots for faster dam (I wish Brd's could use this sword ;;)

Question on food: Is there anything to eat that gives a +% HP like how the Marron Glace does for MP or the Tacos do for Def? I have some RSE, AF, and other peices that'll push my hp up but if I could sneak another 50 some from food that'd be nice.

Edit: Ok I found Hedgehog Pie. Gives 50hp but a bunch of other stats. Appiarently good for RNG for racc. I'm sure it's not cheap are there any cooks out there that can vouch for cost it's a 3hr food so I assume it'll be several K easy.

Just wanted to talk about Yin and Yang last Sunday. Just noticed that Yang popped on left side and Ying on right when Dlord summons them.

When Dredog and I tried to provoke them to chase us, they didn't listen. Rather it seemed they went straight to the person with the highest hate around Dlord and started thrashing them. For Yang, I kept provoking. However many tanks were falling one by one etc. I finally got a hold of Yang.

Yang chased me down 1-2 levels before he tried to go back up, so i ninjutsu + provoke from the bottom level. That idea was bad because it tried to get near the ledge rather than tried to walk to the end to get down a level.

So I went back up to get him and finally got it chasing me again. It took several tries but i manage to brought it down a few levels and eventually down to the bottom level.

1. Yang was slower than me, even at daytime. I assume he is 10% slower than normal running.

2. When you get far enough from him, he would stop for a bit, and can either choose to sit there for a bit or start walking back. It was my chance to redo shadow casting and Defender. I aggro him with either blind/slow/paralyze ninjutsu.

3. I kited him going in a loop like a race track between the bottom and level above it. He tried to nab you at corners, but he will also take longer to get up because he get stuck at corners.

4. I assumed that I successfully got full hate control from him by thinking that my hate was greater than that of anyone fighting dlord (I heard screaming of death). Therefore I assumed that Yang will only go back ignoring me if someone has greater hate than me fighting at Dlord (or if the Goddess cursed me for being an idiot).

And thus Yang died when Dlord died.
(translation -> I missed all the action =/ )

I think if I had Yin, it would probably be the same, but regardless, the dragon proves no trouble at all.

I wanted to make sure I said something about the dragons as well. It's pretty apparent that what Nhon observed about the dragons sharing hate with the DL is true. During every single one of the attempts that I have been a part of, the dragons go straight for the melee camp, which is a heck of a lot further away from where we tank him than the blm camp. I usually take it a step further when i go to sleep tp and go even further down the slope than do most. I do this because I dont want DL ruining my TP gain with an O-Smash to the teeth, and more importantly, because one or both of the dragons usually finds me....all that ways away. I figure if they are gonna come try and kill me, better to have them run that far out of their way, and be that much farther from the action. Doesnt hurt me in the slightest, as with flee i can get back to the fight very very fast.

I wanted to also say that I noticed that Yang seemed to be "stuck" on one of the walls. He seemed to be stuck there for a good bit of time if i recall correctly. Maybe this is a good thing. I mean if you can actually manage to keep him glued to you with ninjutsu and provoke, i dont see any reason why we should let him move if he can't touch you^^.

Grats on an excellent job kiting the dragons Nhon and Dre. It's my firm belief that your job against the dragons was the single most important key to our victory on Sunday! As I said in another post, the dragons were a total non factor compared to the other fights we did.

i also noticed, that ying and yang will attack you regardless of if you have hate if you walk by them. They've done it to me the past 3 times we've tried. Quite annoying.

I might be completely mistaken here on how the mob AI works, but have you ever seen an xp mob just sit there and turn constantly between different players damaging it, seemingly unable to make up its mind which person to attack? I have seen this on a number of occasions, and the mob won't attack anyone. I guess it could be lag, but i saw nothing in log for a number of seconds and no damage taken from looking at the hp bars of people in my PT. The run before last, I think it was, while sleeping TP I was next to another THF and one of the dragons came after the other THF. The other THF started to run a distance away, was not killed, but then that dragon came back for me. I ran a short distance, and he only took one shadow from me, then took off to find a new target. It's puzzling to say the least, how they really work. I think if we just keep people locked on them, keeping their attention focused the entire time, I believe we can cut them out of the picture entirely.

I hate to rez a dead topic but I do have something to ask:

I see in the Dynamis-XAR strategy thread that there's a spot specifically marked "WHMs gather here," for the DL fight. Is there any reason for this? For the DL fights I've attended, I've found myself kind of useless, so I tend to hang around the BLMs/BRDs to see if they need cures, paralyna, or raises. I always wondered where the other WHMs disappeared to.

Most of the WHM head to the area below where the DL is pulled. We are "relatively" safe because of the giant chasm in the ground and can still cure/raise dead melee.
