Chapter 1 - Early June 2004

Fatman “Well everyone in AS would go and I’m sure a few people in Dawn would go plus I know a lot of people in Fury and OZcorps who don’t have an hnmls but could go.”

Ok I exaggerated a little but that is basically where it started, just two guys talking about end game stuff and before you know it, we planned our first run (well Radav pretty much did all the planning). I think Radav had some similar discussions with Sykes too (only difference was instead of 13k Sykes had 13 million)
First thing Radav did was create a new dynamis linkshell. He named it DynamisSouls after the hnmls AwakenedSouls (I had wanted to name it either Fatboys or Candyland, but I did not complain). He gave Helm and I sacks to help hand out pearls.
Radav put the word out and did a lot of research before our first run. I’m not sure where he got all of his info but I know Eltia was a big help as well as other websites.. I posted a message on the OZcorps forums inviting anyone who was able to enter dynamis to come (even though I was a four letter word in that linkshell since my departure :( )
And so the first NA dynamis run on the Phoenix server was scheduled for...

We used a strategy similar to what we still use to this day. We noobed up the boss pull but we were very proud that we got that far our first attempt. JP told us we did excellent job for it being our very first attempt. We all split the cost of the Timeless Hourglass and we died ALOT (ahh the sweet memories).

Dynamis Runs ( 2 through 4)
6/21/04 - Dynamis-Sandoria
7/8/04 - Dynamis-Jeuno
7/18/4 - Dynamis-Windurst
Dynamis-Sandoria proved to be too weak as we beat this zone our first try and scored our first victory in Dynamis. Actually we are 7 for 7 with this zone now.
Dynamis-Jeuno we did ok except we pulled the boss incorrectly and lost.
Dynamis-Windurst DON’T AGGRO THE HOUSE MORONS!! (I don’t wanna talk about it)
We all died so much in these first 4 runs and quite frankly we weren’t doing all that good. Our record was 1 win and 3 losses and a ton of lost experience (we used to do raise one a lot and even home point). To make matters worse people were constantly arguing in the link shell chat and abusing the rule about no talking in link shell chat. Also there were some issues with members from different non-dynamis link shells not liking each other. Radav was getting frustrated because of the cliques that we could see forming. To us this was a way to do something that wasn’t possible with a single link shell. Radav wanted everyone to cooperate and follow rules and although he tried it was a job one man could not do alone. Everyone had a different opinion on what the rules should be like and discussion on the links shell chat always led to arguing.
I got Masx to let us use the Fury message boards but not many people got involved in the discussion. Radav asked Sykes and I to help but we weren’t really much help I think. Sykes was having health problems and I well… I’m lazy!
I could see with each passing run and each passing day Radav was growing more and more frustrated talking about quitting the game until one frightful day in July when all the frustration came to a mighty crescendo known as DYNAMIS-BASTOK!!!
Chapter 3 – Chaos.. Bastok is thy name
(Shortly after our 7/21/04 Dynamis-Bastok Run)

7/21/04 – Dynamis-Bastok
This was the run that broke the Camel’s (Radav’s) back. People were trying to solo scorpions. Other people were not listening to their alliance leaders. People were swearing at other member and offending them in /tell. And to top it all off someone targeted a mob above us and got us all killed and trapped with no ability to re-raise. This is what I am aware of and keep in mind at this point I was just a link shell helper not really all that involved in leadership so I can imagine the living hell Radav was going through.
Radav ordered the linkshell to home point and some of us did while others argued that it was useless. Some people didn’t even have their home point set and acted like it was a mistake. Eventually about 20 of us were unweakened at the beginning of the zone mostly furious because we home pointed while some 30 other self-indulged pansies refused too. I don’t remember who first suggested it but we decided to just farm what we could with 20 people and it turned out to be the funnest experience up to that point for me in dynamis. We breezed through quite a few mobs before time ran out with minimal deaths and great cooperation. Had we not been able to do that I am convinced Radav would have given up on dynamis that day, but instead he decided to re-form the linkshell with 50 people (somehow it ended up being 63) who he knew would take orders and do their best to win. Some people got left out due to oversights and miscommunication but they eventually found their way back to us.
And so was born a new link shell named DynamisBums. Radav chose the name Bums because that’s what he calls us all in /tell anyhow. Lol.
In the new linkshell Radav was still da boss while Sykes and Fatman were his co-leaders.
Other members who took up varying degrees of leadership during runs included Helm, Prophecize, Elmekia, Satire, Teorem, Zumi, and Reticulex.
Chapter 4 - July, 25, 2005 – A new beginning
Radav We should have close to 64 people coming for the new linkshell. I’m gonna have Helm hand out pearls. Can you help him?.

So, with a new pearl and a somewhat different roster (see above), we set out to do our second 4 city cycle.
7/25/04 – Dynamis-Bastok
We did great getting through the zone. We all gathered together at the residential area and the boss pull was successful. Immediately upon the death of the boss, what seemed like 100 mobs spawned right on top of all of us. Moments later we were all dead. It was an honest mistake so Radav wasn’t too discouraged. We knew we would beat this zone next time if we pulled the boss elsewhere. Somehow Aeth, Subhuman, and Zymurgy managed to touch the ??? before they died ><.
7/28/04 – Dynamis-Sandoria
Our second trip into Sandoria resulted in another easy victory for the linkshell. We now had notched two victories, unfortunately they were both Dynamis-Sandoria.
8/1/04 – Dynamis-Jeuno
In our second trip to Jeuno we got a much needed victory for linkshell morale. Most of the people I talk to regularly are having a much better time in dynamis than our first cycle through. The linkshell still has its problems though. That first day Radav and I talked about starting a dynamis linkshell, I know we both envisioned beating the Dynamis Lord as our most important goal. Unfortunatley, the attitude most people are conveying is that they are here to get AF while spending as little money and exp as possible. Unfortunately none of the leaders are too keen on the idea of finding very many new people so we just continue to tolerate the attitudes.
8/8/04 – Dynamis-Windurst
We lost horribly our first attempt and our second attempt was another horrible defeat. At this point many people are questioning if our linkshell is even capable of beating this zone. Radav as always offers words of encouragement but even I am wondering if we can do it. At this point we agree to continue doing Windurst until we win.
Chapter 5 – Windurst Woes

We ended up doing Windurst three times in a row before we won. We almost ran out of time when we won, but Radav and I were both extremely excited about having beaten Windurst. It was kind of ironic that only 51 people showed up and we won.
The link shell is still having problems with people fighting. Some people have told me in private that they are done with dynamis for this reason. In my opinion the biggest problem with the link shell is that people spend all week in the same link shell with friends then they come to dynamis and tend to favor their friends from their regular link shell. An argument ensues and people take sides. Radav has already removed a few people from the link shell, but as I will find out later, being the leader of a dynamis link shell is insanely taxing. 99% of the time that you take action to make people happy it backfires. For every five people you make happy another five become angry because of what you did to make people happy. As we will later find out the best only way to lead a dynamis link shell is to do what you believe is fair and right and ignore the accusations of injustice.
At this point the plan is to do all four cities in a row, win them, then move on to Dynamis-Beaucedine. This should be a piece of cake since we have a solid strategy for each city now, but as we found out so many times, things just don’t always work out for the best in dynamis.

Finally a smooth Dynamis-Bastok run. We won pretty easily and now we know where to pull the boss.
8/22/04 – Dynamis-Jeuno

Result: Loss
We were doing very well and had plenty of extra time so we decided to do some farming before the boss pull. This is when we discovered the trap idol that re-spawns all the mobs at the Auction House. We all died and raised up but we were stuck behind a massive amount of mobs at the Auction House so we just called it a day.
8/25/04 – Dynamis-Jeuno

We came back and won easily. We decided not to get too fancy after what happened the previous run.

This was the first time Radav couldn’t come to Dynamis so he asked Sykes and I to lead the run. Nobody and I mean nobody else wanted to help lead the run so I sorta led it. I kinda just had the alliance leaders do all the work and I threw out a few words of wisdom once in a while. I also found new respect for Radav. Messaging 60+ people to see if they can come to dynamis is a lot of work. Back in these days Radav used to message everyone before each run (except me /></).
9/05/04 – Dynamis-Windurst

Same old Windurst with the same old problems. I was confident that our strategy could work but it just seemed like every time someone would make a mistake and cost us the win.
So this our third city cycle we did noticeably better than before. Bastok, Jeuno, and Sandoria were now easy prey, so our new focus was on a way to defeat Dynamis-Windurst. It was around this time that Radav and I were discussing leaving FFXI amongst our selves a lot. With each passing Windurst run we edged ever so closely to insanity…

We decided to go whoop up on Bastok to lift member morale after the two failed Windurst runs. Cleared it easily with time to spare for some AF farming.

Some people decided to camp Behemoth and Serket due to server reset. Another group that was on its way decided to just go to Bune instead. Sykes and I were both angry, but when Radav told us that about 30 people who committed to coming were hunting nms instead and didn’t even tell him, I was over the top fired up. This is when I promised myself that I would convince Radav one way or another to let more people join the link shell. It wasn’t the fact that people think Bune is better than Dynamis (everyone is entitled to their opinion) but to commit to coming then just not show up for Bune or any HNM for that matter is just plain rude to everyone who took the time to show up. I took everyone’s name that came and apologized to them. I knew at this point that this linkshell was doomed if more people weren’t allowed to join. Having one hnmls decide not to come could potentially end a run. Some more prominent members of a couple hnmls’s actually messaged me and/or Radav and hinted that if rules weren’t changed to their liking then they would just make their own dynamis linkshell. I won’t mention any names but since I never said it before but I’ll say it now to those people. “Suck It!!”

Finally a win. Everything didn’t go smoothly but we pulled out the win. We vowed to never return to Windurst again. Once again Radav spent hours messaging each and every member to get them to come. I’m not sure but Sykes may have helped him out I don’t remember.

We got 3 wins in a row for the first time, but not many people seem to be having fun. Hopefully Dynamis-Beaucedine will change that.
This was easily the worst stretch of dynamis runs. So many deaths and raise one’s. I remember dying at least 6 times a run. To make matters worse people were still arguing constantly and whining to Radav about this person or that person. People were giving out raise 3 and raise 1 selectively and not listening to orders. At this point I’m still not much of a leader, I’m still 99% behind the scenes. At one point here Radav posted a message for Sykes and I saying he could not lead dynamis anymore and asked us to take over. I’m not sure but I think it was all the stress of having to be the only care taker at a day care center for 60 screaming 5 year olds. I know his schedule became limited but I’m guessing the main reason was the stress. I get all kinds of complaints the day of dynamis, and I’m sure Radav gets twice as many as me and back then he got all the complaints. Fortunately Radav didn’t leave us and I believe new life was breathed into the linkshell with our sites now set on Dynamis-Beaucedine…

Finally got the strategy down and won. What a relief. At first I thought it was strange that attendance held up through all the losses but I guess people are willing to die for Uber AF that drops in Beaucedine. People aren’t so willing to die for Windurst AF.

Just a bad experience altogether. Not a good combination of jobs and a lot of no shows. Our intention was to get everyone who missed coming for the key item last time to complete it this time but not many showed up.
At this point in our history a lot of people were leaving FFXI. Others lost interest in dynamis for one reason or another and still others were upset over not getting the AF they “deserved” . We had brought in new members occasionally but only if they had good references and were considered a good player. Of course this left out the fact that many people had been reaching level 70 who our group didn’t know. Most of the people in DynamisBums were what I consider the NA release high levels. We represented linkshells that were comprised mostly of people that got the NA version at or near the end of 2003. A lot of Phoenix server history was also being made for the NA community in other ways. HNMs that had been unbeatable for NA’s for the first half of 2004 were now being killed regularly. Many new HNM ls’s also sprung to life during the early history of DynamisBums. Our server was transforming and I knew it was time for me to act. If Bums was to survive I knew what I had to do so I put my evil scheme to work…

11/10/05 – Dyanamis-Sandoria

Result: Win
With 19 brand new members we went into Sandoria and had our best Sandy run up to this point. Lots of time to farm and killed the boss with ease. Some of the new guys made a few mistakes but it seemed like everyone quickly learned what to do.
11/14/05 – Dynamis-Jeuno
Members in Attendance: 64
Result: Win
How better to follow our best Sandoria run? With our best Jeuno run of course. We pulled the boss with plenty of time left because we cleared most of the zone already. These runs with all the new people re-energized me. New people get excited about there first dynamis runs and I think new people are always great for the linkshell because of that excitement. Another 10 first timers this run.
11/17/05 – Dyanamis-Bastok

Once again we had our best run in the zone we did. Our best Bastok up until this point and we had yet another 7 brand new members with us. Attendance dropped slightly even with the new members which may seem odd but I can explain below.
11/21/05 – Dyanamis-Windurst

A lot of people were really worried about Windurst. I was a bit nervous myself. But boy was I wrong! The noobs conquered this zone in record time and with record few casualties. This was one of the funnest runs ever for me. Another 4 brand new members joined us for this run and attendance still dropped slightly.
11/24/05 – Dyanamis-Beaucedine

We didn’t’ really get a lot of new people access to this zone yet but we still decided to go to at least farm some AF even if only 46 people showed up. Once again our linkshell showed its prowess by breezing through another zone. Another fun run for me making it 5 in a row and a complete cycle through all 5 zones we had beaten to this point.
There were two main reasons why even with all the new members that attendance wasn’t going over 64 a run. First, some veterans decided to take a break after 30+ dynamis runs they need some R&R. Many other veterans stopped coming at this time too. A lot of them were done with the linkshell too, some publicly and some privately telling us that our linkshell sucks. Hehe. I like to think they couldn’t handle the fact that new guys were just as good and in my opinion better than many of our veteran “My poop don’t stink” members. The veterans that did stick with us and/or took a break were exactly the people I had hoped would stay. Some other people left our server for WoW (Come back Elmekia!!!) and a few of them we were sad to see go.
This cycle of runs marks what I consider the beginning of the modern age of DynamisBums. We had a great website running, lots of interest from our server, we were kicking some Dynamis tail, and we had overhauled the rules. My evil little plan to reform this linkshell was working better than I had hoped…

Ok I exaggerated a little but that is basically where it started, just two guys talking about end game stuff and before you know it, we planned our first run (well Radav pretty much did all the planning). I think Radav had some similar discussions with Sykes too (only difference was instead of 13k Sykes had 13 million)
First thing Radav did was create a new dynamis linkshell. He named it DynamisSouls after the hnmls AwakenedSouls (I had wanted to name it either Fatboys or Candyland, but I did not complain). He gave Helm and I sacks to help hand out pearls.
Radav put the word out and did a lot of research before our first run. I’m not sure where he got all of his info but I know Eltia was a big help as well as other websites.. I posted a message on the OZcorps forums inviting anyone who was able to enter dynamis to come (even though I was a four letter word in that linkshell since my departure :( )
And so the first NA dynamis run on the Phoenix server was scheduled for...

We used a strategy similar to what we still use to this day. We noobed up the boss pull but we were very proud that we got that far our first attempt. JP told us we did excellent job for it being our very first attempt. We all split the cost of the Timeless Hourglass and we died ALOT (ahh the sweet memories).

6/21/04 - Dynamis-Sandoria
7/8/04 - Dynamis-Jeuno
7/18/4 - Dynamis-Windurst
Dynamis-Sandoria proved to be too weak as we beat this zone our first try and scored our first victory in Dynamis. Actually we are 7 for 7 with this zone now.
Dynamis-Jeuno we did ok except we pulled the boss incorrectly and lost.
Dynamis-Windurst DON’T AGGRO THE HOUSE MORONS!! (I don’t wanna talk about it)
We all died so much in these first 4 runs and quite frankly we weren’t doing all that good. Our record was 1 win and 3 losses and a ton of lost experience (we used to do raise one a lot and even home point). To make matters worse people were constantly arguing in the link shell chat and abusing the rule about no talking in link shell chat. Also there were some issues with members from different non-dynamis link shells not liking each other. Radav was getting frustrated because of the cliques that we could see forming. To us this was a way to do something that wasn’t possible with a single link shell. Radav wanted everyone to cooperate and follow rules and although he tried it was a job one man could not do alone. Everyone had a different opinion on what the rules should be like and discussion on the links shell chat always led to arguing.
I got Masx to let us use the Fury message boards but not many people got involved in the discussion. Radav asked Sykes and I to help but we weren’t really much help I think. Sykes was having health problems and I well… I’m lazy!
I could see with each passing run and each passing day Radav was growing more and more frustrated talking about quitting the game until one frightful day in July when all the frustration came to a mighty crescendo known as DYNAMIS-BASTOK!!!
Chapter 3 – Chaos.. Bastok is thy name

7/21/04 – Dynamis-Bastok
This was the run that broke the Camel’s (Radav’s) back. People were trying to solo scorpions. Other people were not listening to their alliance leaders. People were swearing at other member and offending them in /tell. And to top it all off someone targeted a mob above us and got us all killed and trapped with no ability to re-raise. This is what I am aware of and keep in mind at this point I was just a link shell helper not really all that involved in leadership so I can imagine the living hell Radav was going through.
Radav ordered the linkshell to home point and some of us did while others argued that it was useless. Some people didn’t even have their home point set and acted like it was a mistake. Eventually about 20 of us were unweakened at the beginning of the zone mostly furious because we home pointed while some 30 other self-indulged pansies refused too. I don’t remember who first suggested it but we decided to just farm what we could with 20 people and it turned out to be the funnest experience up to that point for me in dynamis. We breezed through quite a few mobs before time ran out with minimal deaths and great cooperation. Had we not been able to do that I am convinced Radav would have given up on dynamis that day, but instead he decided to re-form the linkshell with 50 people (somehow it ended up being 63) who he knew would take orders and do their best to win. Some people got left out due to oversights and miscommunication but they eventually found their way back to us.
And so was born a new link shell named DynamisBums. Radav chose the name Bums because that’s what he calls us all in /tell anyhow. Lol.
In the new linkshell Radav was still da boss while Sykes and Fatman were his co-leaders.
Other members who took up varying degrees of leadership during runs included Helm, Prophecize, Elmekia, Satire, Teorem, Zumi, and Reticulex.
Chapter 4 - July, 25, 2005 – A new beginning

So, with a new pearl and a somewhat different roster (see above), we set out to do our second 4 city cycle.
7/25/04 – Dynamis-Bastok
We did great getting through the zone. We all gathered together at the residential area and the boss pull was successful. Immediately upon the death of the boss, what seemed like 100 mobs spawned right on top of all of us. Moments later we were all dead. It was an honest mistake so Radav wasn’t too discouraged. We knew we would beat this zone next time if we pulled the boss elsewhere. Somehow Aeth, Subhuman, and Zymurgy managed to touch the ??? before they died ><.
7/28/04 – Dynamis-Sandoria
Our second trip into Sandoria resulted in another easy victory for the linkshell. We now had notched two victories, unfortunately they were both Dynamis-Sandoria.
8/1/04 – Dynamis-Jeuno
In our second trip to Jeuno we got a much needed victory for linkshell morale. Most of the people I talk to regularly are having a much better time in dynamis than our first cycle through. The linkshell still has its problems though. That first day Radav and I talked about starting a dynamis linkshell, I know we both envisioned beating the Dynamis Lord as our most important goal. Unfortunatley, the attitude most people are conveying is that they are here to get AF while spending as little money and exp as possible. Unfortunately none of the leaders are too keen on the idea of finding very many new people so we just continue to tolerate the attitudes.
8/8/04 – Dynamis-Windurst
We lost horribly our first attempt and our second attempt was another horrible defeat. At this point many people are questioning if our linkshell is even capable of beating this zone. Radav as always offers words of encouragement but even I am wondering if we can do it. At this point we agree to continue doing Windurst until we win.
Chapter 5 – Windurst Woes

We ended up doing Windurst three times in a row before we won. We almost ran out of time when we won, but Radav and I were both extremely excited about having beaten Windurst. It was kind of ironic that only 51 people showed up and we won.
The link shell is still having problems with people fighting. Some people have told me in private that they are done with dynamis for this reason. In my opinion the biggest problem with the link shell is that people spend all week in the same link shell with friends then they come to dynamis and tend to favor their friends from their regular link shell. An argument ensues and people take sides. Radav has already removed a few people from the link shell, but as I will find out later, being the leader of a dynamis link shell is insanely taxing. 99% of the time that you take action to make people happy it backfires. For every five people you make happy another five become angry because of what you did to make people happy. As we will later find out the best only way to lead a dynamis link shell is to do what you believe is fair and right and ignore the accusations of injustice.
At this point the plan is to do all four cities in a row, win them, then move on to Dynamis-Beaucedine. This should be a piece of cake since we have a solid strategy for each city now, but as we found out so many times, things just don’t always work out for the best in dynamis.

Finally a smooth Dynamis-Bastok run. We won pretty easily and now we know where to pull the boss.
8/22/04 – Dynamis-Jeuno

We were doing very well and had plenty of extra time so we decided to do some farming before the boss pull. This is when we discovered the trap idol that re-spawns all the mobs at the Auction House. We all died and raised up but we were stuck behind a massive amount of mobs at the Auction House so we just called it a day.

This was the first time Radav couldn’t come to Dynamis so he asked Sykes and I to lead the run. Nobody and I mean nobody else wanted to help lead the run so I sorta led it. I kinda just had the alliance leaders do all the work and I threw out a few words of wisdom once in a while. I also found new respect for Radav. Messaging 60+ people to see if they can come to dynamis is a lot of work. Back in these days Radav used to message everyone before each run (except me /></).
9/05/04 – Dynamis-Windurst

Same old Windurst with the same old problems. I was confident that our strategy could work but it just seemed like every time someone would make a mistake and cost us the win.
So this our third city cycle we did noticeably better than before. Bastok, Jeuno, and Sandoria were now easy prey, so our new focus was on a way to defeat Dynamis-Windurst. It was around this time that Radav and I were discussing leaving FFXI amongst our selves a lot. With each passing Windurst run we edged ever so closely to insanity…

We decided to go whoop up on Bastok to lift member morale after the two failed Windurst runs. Cleared it easily with time to spare for some AF farming.

Some people decided to camp Behemoth and Serket due to server reset. Another group that was on its way decided to just go to Bune instead. Sykes and I were both angry, but when Radav told us that about 30 people who committed to coming were hunting nms instead and didn’t even tell him, I was over the top fired up. This is when I promised myself that I would convince Radav one way or another to let more people join the link shell. It wasn’t the fact that people think Bune is better than Dynamis (everyone is entitled to their opinion) but to commit to coming then just not show up for Bune or any HNM for that matter is just plain rude to everyone who took the time to show up. I took everyone’s name that came and apologized to them. I knew at this point that this linkshell was doomed if more people weren’t allowed to join. Having one hnmls decide not to come could potentially end a run. Some more prominent members of a couple hnmls’s actually messaged me and/or Radav and hinted that if rules weren’t changed to their liking then they would just make their own dynamis linkshell. I won’t mention any names but since I never said it before but I’ll say it now to those people. “Suck It!!”

Finally a win. Everything didn’t go smoothly but we pulled out the win. We vowed to never return to Windurst again. Once again Radav spent hours messaging each and every member to get them to come. I’m not sure but Sykes may have helped him out I don’t remember.

We got 3 wins in a row for the first time, but not many people seem to be having fun. Hopefully Dynamis-Beaucedine will change that.
This was easily the worst stretch of dynamis runs. So many deaths and raise one’s. I remember dying at least 6 times a run. To make matters worse people were still arguing constantly and whining to Radav about this person or that person. People were giving out raise 3 and raise 1 selectively and not listening to orders. At this point I’m still not much of a leader, I’m still 99% behind the scenes. At one point here Radav posted a message for Sykes and I saying he could not lead dynamis anymore and asked us to take over. I’m not sure but I think it was all the stress of having to be the only care taker at a day care center for 60 screaming 5 year olds. I know his schedule became limited but I’m guessing the main reason was the stress. I get all kinds of complaints the day of dynamis, and I’m sure Radav gets twice as many as me and back then he got all the complaints. Fortunately Radav didn’t leave us and I believe new life was breathed into the linkshell with our sites now set on Dynamis-Beaucedine…

Finally got the strategy down and won. What a relief. At first I thought it was strange that attendance held up through all the losses but I guess people are willing to die for Uber AF that drops in Beaucedine. People aren’t so willing to die for Windurst AF.

Just a bad experience altogether. Not a good combination of jobs and a lot of no shows. Our intention was to get everyone who missed coming for the key item last time to complete it this time but not many showed up.
At this point in our history a lot of people were leaving FFXI. Others lost interest in dynamis for one reason or another and still others were upset over not getting the AF they “deserved” . We had brought in new members occasionally but only if they had good references and were considered a good player. Of course this left out the fact that many people had been reaching level 70 who our group didn’t know. Most of the people in DynamisBums were what I consider the NA release high levels. We represented linkshells that were comprised mostly of people that got the NA version at or near the end of 2003. A lot of Phoenix server history was also being made for the NA community in other ways. HNMs that had been unbeatable for NA’s for the first half of 2004 were now being killed regularly. Many new HNM ls’s also sprung to life during the early history of DynamisBums. Our server was transforming and I knew it was time for me to act. If Bums was to survive I knew what I had to do so I put my evil scheme to work…

11/10/05 – Dyanamis-Sandoria
Members in Attendance: 61
Result: Win
With 19 brand new members we went into Sandoria and had our best Sandy run up to this point. Lots of time to farm and killed the boss with ease. Some of the new guys made a few mistakes but it seemed like everyone quickly learned what to do.
11/14/05 – Dynamis-Jeuno
Members in Attendance: 64
Result: Win
How better to follow our best Sandoria run? With our best Jeuno run of course. We pulled the boss with plenty of time left because we cleared most of the zone already. These runs with all the new people re-energized me. New people get excited about there first dynamis runs and I think new people are always great for the linkshell because of that excitement. Another 10 first timers this run.
11/17/05 – Dyanamis-Bastok

Result: Win
Once again we had our best run in the zone we did. Our best Bastok up until this point and we had yet another 7 brand new members with us. Attendance dropped slightly even with the new members which may seem odd but I can explain below.
11/21/05 – Dyanamis-Windurst
Members in Attendance: 54
Result: Win
A lot of people were really worried about Windurst. I was a bit nervous myself. But boy was I wrong! The noobs conquered this zone in record time and with record few casualties. This was one of the funnest runs ever for me. Another 4 brand new members joined us for this run and attendance still dropped slightly.
11/24/05 – Dyanamis-Beaucedine
Members in Attendance: 46
Result: Win
We didn’t’ really get a lot of new people access to this zone yet but we still decided to go to at least farm some AF even if only 46 people showed up. Once again our linkshell showed its prowess by breezing through another zone. Another fun run for me making it 5 in a row and a complete cycle through all 5 zones we had beaten to this point.
There were two main reasons why even with all the new members that attendance wasn’t going over 64 a run. First, some veterans decided to take a break after 30+ dynamis runs they need some R&R. Many other veterans stopped coming at this time too. A lot of them were done with the linkshell too, some publicly and some privately telling us that our linkshell sucks. Hehe. I like to think they couldn’t handle the fact that new guys were just as good and in my opinion better than many of our veteran “My poop don’t stink” members. The veterans that did stick with us and/or took a break were exactly the people I had hoped would stay. Some other people left our server for WoW (Come back Elmekia!!!) and a few of them we were sad to see go.
This cycle of runs marks what I consider the beginning of the modern age of DynamisBums. We had a great website running, lots of interest from our server, we were kicking some Dynamis tail, and we had overhauled the rules. My evil little plan to reform this linkshell was working better than I had hoped…
